Removal efficiency of phenol by ozonation process with calcium peroxide from aqueous solutions

Abstract Phenol has been introduced as a priority pollutant by the US Environmental Protection Agency. Advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) are one of most efficient methods for removal non-degradable organic pollutants in aqueous solutions. The efficiencies phenol and COD under optimal conditions pH = 3, concentration 5 mg/L, CaO 2 0.025 temperature 25 °C, 1 g/min ozonation rate contact time 90 min synthetic real samples (Zarand coal washing factory Kerman) were obtained 97.8%, 87% 80%, 65.4%, respectively. kinetics decomposition follows from pseudo-first-order equation. Thermodynamic studies show that with calcium peroxide is an endothermic process. use process method can be recommended coefficient phenol.
